Privacy Policy

1. General Policy

株式会社Sunabalab (the “Operator”) establishes this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of User information in the SnapSelect mobile application and related web pages (collectively, the “Service”).

The Service is designed to help Users find photos stored on their smartphones that may have been taken with a camera. As a general rule, the classification of photos and shooting information is completed entirely on the User’s device.

2. Information Handled by the App on the Device

To provide its features, the App may access or store the following information on the device based on permissions granted through the operating system:

• Images in the photo library or media library.
• Manufacturer name, model name, lens information, file format, storage location, and information needed to identify screenshots.
• On-device information used to identify photos, classification results, reasons for classification, processing dates and times, and the status of additions or copies to a SnapSelect album or folder.
• Photo access permissions, App settings, and scan progress and results.

This information may be stored on the device as local App data. The Operator does not collect, store, or view this information on its servers.

3. External Transfers and Third-Party SDKs

The App does not send the following information to the Operator’s servers, external analytics services, or advertising services for photo-classification purposes:

• Photos, videos, or thumbnails.
• Shooting information or other information contained in photos.
• Photo classification results, photo IDs, or processing history.
• Location information, contacts, advertising IDs, or identifiers used for tracking.

The App does not provide cloud synchronization, server-side photo classification, automatic posting to social media, image classification by external AI services, or advertising delivery.

The iOS and Android versions use Firebase Remote Config to retrieve required-update settings for the App. Firebase Remote Config processes a Firebase Installation ID in order to return configuration values to the device. The service provider may also process IP addresses and other information necessary for communications. The App is not implemented to send photos, EXIF metadata, photo IDs, or classification results to Remote Config. Information sent to and retained by Firebase is governed by Firebase specifications and Google’s Privacy Policy.

From App launch, the App sends Google Analytics for Firebase usage data such as screen names; photo-access permission flows and outcomes; scan starts, successes, and failures; ranges for processing time, processed-photo counts, discovered-photo counts, and unknown-photo rates; and actions such as opening the gallery or beginning to share. In addition to this data, Google may process technical information such as an App instance identifier, App, device, and operating-system information, and approximate region. The App does not send photos, thumbnails, EXIF metadata, file names, photo IDs, URIs, paths, album names, precise location information, exact shooting times, camera models, raw exception information, or sharing destinations to Analytics.

Analytics is used only to improve quality, analyze usage, and understand failure trends. It is not used for advertising, remarketing, personalized advertising, or tracking through a custom User ID. The App does not provide an in-App setting to disable Analytics.

4. Purposes of Use

The App handles information on the device for the following purposes:

1. To classify camera photos, phone photos, screenshots, saved images, and photos whose type is uncertain.
2. To add camera photos to the SnapSelect album in the Photos app on iOS.
3. To display camera photos in the in-App SnapSelect gallery on Android and, in response to a User action, copy them to a SnapSelect folder on the device.
4. To avoid processing the same photos more than once.
5. To allow the User to review and manually classify photos whose type is uncertain.
6. To aggregate usage data about User flows, achievement of key value milestones, and failure trends, and to improve quality.

5. Photo Access Permissions

The App requests permission to access the photo library or media library in order to classify photos. The User may change or revoke this permission at any time through the operating system settings.

• When full access is granted, the App scans photos within the scope permitted by the operating system.
• When limited access is granted, the App scans only photos selected by the User or otherwise permitted by the operating system.
• Without permission, the App’s photo-classification features may be unavailable.

6. User-Initiated Sharing with Third Parties

When the User uses a sharing feature, selected photos may be sent to a social-networking service, cloud service, messaging app, or other third-party service selected by the User. The transfer is initiated by the User’s own action, and the third-party service’s terms and privacy policy apply to the information after it is sent.

If the User opens and submits the feedback or bug-report form, the information entered is sent to Google and the Operator through Google Forms. Use of the form is optional.

7. Third-Party Services and Websites

The App uses Firebase Remote Config and Google Analytics for Firebase. As of the audit conducted on July 11, 2026, the App does not include SDKs for Crashlytics, advertising, attribution, image classification by external AI services, or proprietary cloud synchronization. Google’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.

This website is delivered using Firebase Hosting. The website itself does not install proprietary cookies, advertising tags, or analytics tags. The Firebase Hosting provider may, however, process request information to the extent necessary to deliver the website.

8. Retention, Management, and Deletion of Information

1. The App’s local data is stored on the device for as long as necessary to prevent duplicate processing, display classification results, and provide related features.
2. Deleting the App from the device also deletes Analytics data stored on the device. This does not mean that all data already sent to Google for aggregation will be deleted immediately.
3. As an initial policy, the retention period for Analytics event and User data is set to a maximum of 14 months, without resetting the retention period upon new activity. Actual retention is governed by Google’s specifications and the Operator’s Firebase settings.
4. The User may be able to delete local data on the device by deleting the App, clearing storage through the operating system, or using an in-App feature.
5. Photos saved or copied to an album in the iOS Photos app or to the Android SnapSelect folder are managed by the operating system, Photos app, or gallery app. If deletion is necessary, the User must delete the photos through the applicable app.
6. The App is not a photo backup service. The User is responsible for backing up any photos that need to be preserved.

9. Security, Children’s Use, and International Availability

1. For information handled by the App on the device, the Operator uses the operating system’s sandbox, permission controls, and other reasonable security measures. The Operator does not, however, guarantee that every risk can be completely eliminated.
2. The App is not designed primarily for children. The target age and regions where the App is offered will be checked for consistency with Store settings before release.
3. If the App is offered outside Japan, the Operator will review applicable data-protection and consumer-protection laws and take any necessary measures.

10. Changes to This Policy

The Operator may change this Privacy Policy in response to changes in applicable law, Store requirements, App features, or the use of external services. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this website.
